Recruitment Trends: One of the primary objectives is to equip you with the ability to integrate
the insights gained from different recruitment trends. In today's rapidly evolving job market, it
is crucial to stay updated with the latest practices and strategies employed by employers. By
studying and analyzing these trends, you will develop a deep understanding of the factors that
shape the recruitment process. This knowledge will enable you to adapt and align your skills
and qualifications accordingly, maximizing your chances of success in securing desirable
employment opportunities.
Skills Development: Another key objective is to foster the training and development of
essential skills that are vital for effectively navigating the selection process within the industry.
Recognizing the increasing competitiveness of the job market, it is imperative to possess a

CONTENT

1. Navigating your Future: Authentic Dialogue About your Personal and Professional Success

What are the key components of the motivations? What drives your performance?
What motivates you in your life and professional purpose? Extrinsic and Intrinsic motivation. How are these ideas connected?"

2. General Approach to the Industry and Sectors (Investment Banking, Consulting, Impact)

This session aims to give you an overview over career opportunities in a certain sector. The esade career services sector experts will deep dive in the Government & Social Entities Sector, the Consulting Sector and the Financial Services Sector. In a structured way we will first discover the opportunities in each sector and therewith broaden your horizon on opportunities that you might not have considered yet for your future. To give you even better criteria and deep dive in each sector we will talk about the different characteristics of the possibilities and how a typical career path might look like. The sector experts will explain you how recruitment in their specific field works, including the right timing for your applications. This lecture will foster your self- reflection and give you food for thought on where you want to go professionally.

4. How to Maximize your Brand Name & Networking (Resume & Cover Letter)

During this session you will learn to stand out by showcasing your passion and unique selling points on your resume (CV) and cover letter, taking into account the recruiter perspective, in order to follow your preferred career journey within the impact environment (social entities, international organizations, impact investment, social consultancy¿).

5. Cross Culture Management

Although in recent years there has been a global shift towards countries looking inwards and this being reflected in the political base of many countries around the world, businesses have been taking significant steps towards acknowledging and understanding the positive impact of cultural differences and implementing strategies that improve the relationship between within companies and ultimately benefitting greatly from a shift towards cultural cognisance

This session is a follow up session on the General Approach to the Sectors lecture where you get to know in-depth the different departments of Investment Banking. In this session we will explain the different entry opportunities in Investment Banking and Financial Services companies. We will give an overview of the different divisions in a bank, explain the application strategy (Summer Internships/ Internships/ Full time) and timelines for your application. If you are interested in a career in Financial Services, in this session you will receive important information to understand the divisions and roles in a bank and the strategy you should follow to maximize your chances to land an internship in this highly competitive sector.

8. General Approach II (G&SE)

In this session we will go more into detail about a career in Government, International Organizations and social impact. The first step to pursue a career in this area is information, information is key. Having a deep knowledge about the different institutions network, most required profiles and selection processes will allow students to do their firsts steps right. We will do an overview of the different types of International Organizations and other entities of this sector network. European Institutions, United Nations system, other Multilateral Organizations, Development Banks, Government Institutions and other entities.

9. Building Strong Relationship in the Sector

Networking is also an extremely important asset for those students who wants to pursue a career in this area. In this session different representatives of different entities will be invited to talk about their day to day job. Students will have an approach on the daily work and also will have the chance to start their networking in this area. A part from networking this session have the objective to fill a gap that has been detected in students. It is difficult for them to focus their search as they don¿t really know about the daily work of certain organization. With this session we will help students to better understand about the work of the different entities in order to facilitate the decision making about their careers. Another important gap which we will try to cover is to have a direct experience with the organization which might be also possible to include in their CV. Organizations will present a case which might be a problem or challenge for the Organization. They will also include some resources, lectures and materials to help students in the case. The different Organizations will do a presentation of the case, later, students will decide in a first-come first-served basis which project they want to work in.

10. Case Method: How to Prepare for Case Method Analysis & The Theory of the Practice

How should you prepare for the case method? During this session you will have a deep preparation about this important step in the main recruitment processes. Are you ready?

11. Case Project

"In the last session students will present their work with a power point or another presentation tool. They will then receive the feedback and will receive a qualification of their job from the different representatives.
Students will also prepare a document to send it to the representatives and esade careers. After this experience, students will be able to add in their CV this experience having a more attractive profile for those institutions."

Methodology

In order to accomplish the course objectives, we employ a methodology rooted in the "learning
by doing" approach, which emphasizes active participation, engaging lectures, and insightful
case discussions.

A key component of the course involves the involvement of guest executives who bring their
extensive industry experience to further enrich your understanding of specific industry areas.
These guest executives are experts in various fields within the industry and play a central role
in the course. Their presence provides valuable insights into the practical application of
industry principles and organizational concepts across different aspects.

Through their participation, these guest executives share real-world examples, case studies, and
practical scenarios that illustrate how industry principles are implemented in diverse
organizational contexts. Their firsthand experiences offer you a deeper understanding of the
challenges, strategies, and best practices prevalent in the industry.
The course's dynamic nature encourages active engagement and participation, allowing you to
apply theoretical concepts to practical situations. By actively participating in discussions,
analyzing case studies, and learning from these industry professionals, you will develop a wellrounded perspective and gain valuable skills that can be directly applied in real-world settings.
This methodology ensures that you not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop a
practical understanding of how industry principles are put into action. By actively engaging
with guest executives and leveraging their expertise, you will be better equipped to navigate
the complexities of the industry and make informed decisions throughout your career

Assessment criteria

50% Class attendance and Class participation.
Grading class participation is necessarily subjective. However, we try to make it as "objective
as possible? .Some of the criteria for evaluating effective class participation include:
Is the participant prepared? Do comments show evidence of analysis of the
case/reading/lecture? Do comments add to our understanding of the situation? Does the
participant go beyond simple/repetition of basic facts without analysis and conclusions?
Is the participant a good listener? Are the points made relevant to the discussion? Are
they linked to the comments of others? Is the participant willing to interact with other
class members?
Is the participant an effective communicator? Are concepts presented in a concise and
convincing way?
