The program is based on active and interactive learning, teamwork and self-reflection. During the program, participants are invited to elaborate a coherent change strategy for their own business and reflect on own qualities and behavior related to their professional role in change processes.

In interactive learning processes, participants are asked to present insights from the literature studied in the weeks before the experiential learning program. In studying the book "Organizational culture and leadership? participants are invited to relate practical insights and useful concepts to own work environment. The preparations are essential to realize an intense dialogue in small groups about your role and position in your organization.

During the program applicants participate in teamwork activities. These activities help to learn about teamwork, competition and collaboration. Reflections on these activities help you to understand own roles in teams and leadership style in relation to others.

On several times during the experiential learning program people are invited to reflect on oneself and personal leadership styles. Time is offered to exchange reflections with others in strategic dialogues. The reflections of the whole week are the bases for assessment after the program.

COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM

The focus of the course is on strategic and cultural management and transnational leadership and the way in which strategic and cultural changes can be realized in businesses.

Digitalization, competition, innovation and internationalization of business requires more understanding of cultural dynamics. To become a transnational leader and a change master it is necessary to develop business sensitivity, cultural awareness and transformational experience. Strategic and cultural change in organizations are interconnected. It is not possible to achieve positive strategic change without cultural change. This raises the question what initiatives professionals and transnational leaders can take in order to realize successful strategic and cultural change in organizations.

Cultural differences between and within businesses affect the process of realizing successful change. Even with experienced companies many well-intended applications of management theory have tuned out badly because cultural values in the organization were neglected. To be successful in strategic and cultural change there is a need to understand your own values, the business identity of your organization and to develop sensitivity to the depths of cultural dynamics. The essence of culture is not what we see on the surface. It is the shared way how people understand and interpreted the world. If business professionals want to gain allegiance of their corporate goals, business strategies and the essence of products and services, they must understand what leadership means in different professional and national cultures.
