Students need to have completed the Information Systems Management I, Information Systems Management II and Business Policy courses.

- Basic knowledge of information and communication technologies.
- A basic understanding of an organisation's information architecture (databases, forms, etc.).
- Data structure analysis (entity-relationship).
- Data-flow analysis.
- Basics of SWOT analysis.
- Value chain and competitive analysis in an industrial sector.

This course aims to demonstrate the value that information systems contribute to organisations.

This value manifests itself on four levels:
- Technological trends
- Strategy
- Innovation

With regard to the executive function, students will be presented with a governance framework for information systems, with a special emphasis on their transversal nature.

The course aims for students to develop the following:
- An understanding of the basic language related to the world of business, which implies an in-depth knowledge of the fundamental management concepts and tools linked to each of the different functional areas.
- The necessary skills that enable a comprehensive and general view of organisations and the environments they operate in, beyond their functional aspects.
- Become capable of contributing, from a functional perspective, to the overall strategy of a company, with an international vision of the organisation.
- Become enterprising and reflective professionals and executives, sensitive to diversity and aware of their personal and professional responsibility to society; individuals who have cultivated their human quality, as well as a sense of solidarity and justice.

The learning activities carried out over the course of the subject will encourage students to reflect on ethical issues related to information systems, and the capacity of information systems to act as a stimulus for transformation in society.

On completing this course the student will know how to design an information systems strategy aligned with the company's organisational strategy.
For this purpose the student will also:
- Be able to analyse the different components of Information Systems, their role in organisations and their strategy.
- Know about the market and sector actors and trends.
- Be able to identify and apply the relevant aspects of governance to information and communication technologies in organisations.
