Prerequisites

As established by the Management of the BBA programme, students have to have taken the previous Economics courses.

Previous Knowledge

Foundations acquired in the previous academic courses, in particular the courses and activities offered by the Department of Economics (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, etc.)

Workload distribution

The time students need to dedicate is distributed between group learning activities to prepare and present in class, acquire knowledge via readings and studying various documents and case studies.

COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM

The course applies the economic background from previous courses to provide analysis and understanding of the global economic environment

Course Learning Objectives

Acquisition of knowledge regarding the environment companies and organizations operate in, as well as the formulation of short, mid and long-term scenarios.

Development of skills to gather, analyze and interpret economic indicators.

Integrate analysis of the global economic environment into the decision-making processes used in companies and organizations from a functional, as well as sectoral and geographical perspective.

Methodology

An active and participatory methodology based on analyzing economic models, databases and various information sources, as well as case study discussions.
