COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM
This Gateway Seminar for ESADE's Master in Marketing Management (also offered as a Skills Seminar to students of other ESADE programs), aims to provide students with a general overview of the e-commerce & tech sector.

Course Learning Objectives
- To learn directly from practitioners and specialists currently working in the sector on local/global level.
- To identify the main levers and stakeholders of the industry, and their interrelationship;
- To understand the size and scope of the e-commerce&technology industry;
- To identify the various career paths in the sector, and the value that management graduates can add;
CONTENT
1. Introduction to the GA Seminar Presentation of the seminar |
2. An overview of the E-commerce and Tech Sector Business models, trends and career paths for business professionals |
3. Build an eCommerce website Group exercise |
4. Company presentations Keynotes, discussions and exercises directly designed for companies or professionals from the field. (Final agenda to be confirmed during the intro session) |
5. Closing session Class discussion about lessons learned and presentation of the individual exercise |
Methodology
TBC: There will be two days of class sessions, in which classroom participation will be valued, including but not limited to the completion of all readings assigned.

Assessment criteria
Attendance to all class sessions is compulsory.
Course assessment will be based on:
- Classroom participation and activity (30 %) - Students' thoughtful, succinct contribution to class discussion, including informed questions and personal insights
- Group exercise (70%)
