Distribución de la carga de trabajo
This is a 6 ECTS course, which means that students are expected to dedicate approximately 150 hours of workload. (25 hours per ECTS). This workload encompasses expositive sessions, participatory sessions and synchronous or asynchronous autonomous student work, study time, or any other time dedicated to the subject.
Contribución de la asignatura al programa
Statistics is an essential tool for decision-making in environments where we work with random data. This course provides some of the theoretical and practical foundations necessary to adequately address decision-making in the face of uncertainty. Students will become familiar with data analysis, probability, random variables, and statistical Inference. Students may be asked to use Excel or other tools during the course to solve problems.
Objetivos de aprendizaje de la asignatura
After taking this subject, students should be able to:
- Use statistical reasoning in its practical applications.
- Understand the different branches, concepts and statistical techniques to be able to use them in appropriate situations.
- Relate the subject with the other subjects of the studies and of their future professional life.
- Summarize information from a data set using univariate and bivariate descriptive statistical techniques.
- Prepare descriptive statistical reports.
- Use the calculation of probabilities and probability models in decision-making.
- Apply the techniques learned in an ethical way

Metodología
Two type of sessions:
Sessions type A will be to introduce each topic (1 hour / per topic) and will consists on:
- Lecture sessions where will introduce the framework and content of each topic
- Introduce cases to be solved in groups.
Sessions Type B sessions we work on "Applied Statistics" ( 2hours / topic)
- Participatory sessions to help students in the comprehension of each topic
- To discuss cases and solve exercises.
Criterios de evaluación
Students will be assessed based on the following criteria:
Positive and Active class participation, interaction, and teamwork
Individual continuous assessment
Group assignment
Individual Exam
Peer evaluation is applied to the teamwork.
