Distribución de la carga de trabajo

Up to 50 contact hours, as well as additional time to be spent on asynchronous tasks, howework, writing file tasks and group work. Distribution of course hours may vary across programmes.

Objetivos de aprendizaje de la asignatura

· Increase general English level to C1.2

· Increase awareness of legal topics

· Industry-specific vocabulary: expand students' vocabulary related to their degree.

· Become familiar with and practice some TOEFL tasks

· Improve spoken and written English

· Learn to write reports

· Learn to negotiate

· Learn to participate in seminars

· Learn how to give persuasive presentations


Students will write regularly during the course and will improve their formal and specific legal English vocabulary.

Metodología

Both written and oral skills will be evaluated.

Oral Component 50%

Written Component 50%

In order to pass the course students must pass both the oral and written component with at least 50%. In the resits students need only take the part that they failed. In subsequent resits both parts must be taken. There is a minimum attendence requirement of 80%. Any student who does not meet this requirement may not sit the final exam in May but go automatically to the resit in July.

Criterios de evaluación

Classes are highly participative and will include oral discussions, seminars, debates, negotiations and presentations.
