This course will equip you with the necessary tools to begin your MSc.
Course Learning Objectives
This course will prepare students to understand the business strategy and its financial implications. Upon completing this course students should be able to:
1.Familiarly use accounting terminology
2.Understand the economic context of the financial reporting and the interplay between different interested parties in this process
3.Construct, interpret and analyze a balance sheet and an income statement
4.Understand the time value of money and learn to discount cash flows
5. Learn basique valuation techniques
6. Apply financial analysis and valuation to a case

Assessment criteria
Class participation and exam each count 50% of the final grade. There is no need to pass each category separately. The final grade is a pass/no pass.
Bibliography
Basic accounting and finance textbooks. Also required for the course is a course online, which includes the finance concepts covered in the course as well as assorted readings. This material will be available online in Moodle. My lecture notes will also be available online in Moodle.
