COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM

The aim is to complement traditional management views with certain key concepts, including strategy, leadership and motivation along with an anthropological perspective.

Course Learning Objectives

Organisations and companies establish shared patterns in terms of both behaviours and beliefs. This common understanding of how things should be done represents the basis for what we refer to as social capital in organisations and culture in companies. Identifying how these patterns and shared understanding evolve, especially in times of change, is the key pedagogical purpose of this subject.

Methodology

This class combines lectures by faculty on the course concepts and students¿ search for additional information and their class participation. The latter implies presenting the information they find as well as their contribution and participation in debates on the course topics and other issued raised by other participants.

Assessment criteria

Attendance and class participation: 50% of the final mark.
In-class exercises: 50% of the mark, including group presentations on the topics addressed in this subject.
