Course Learning Objectives
The objective of this practical, skill-based course is to prepare students to meet the challenges of modern communication. It teaches students the elements of effective and persuasive communication. Through class discussions and interactive exercises, participants will gain mastery of effective ways to communicate both internally and externally.
Communicating has always been at the heart of management and leadership. Without it, even the best strategies cannot be implemented. Therefore, in today's digital age, how and what leaders communicate is increasingly changing. Mastering the new styles of communication is a key executive skill.
You will learn how to:
- Find your own authentic leadership voice.
- Tailor communications to different audiences
- Structure your messages effectively
- Create a powerful narrative
- Capture your audience's imagination through storytelling
- Effectively use your voice and body language
- Media Training and how to prepare for tough Q & A
- Communicate bad news and answer difficult questions
- Conquer the fear of public speaking and negative stress
- Enhance credibility and influence (on camera training)
- Look your best on camera
CONTENT
1. WEEK ONE 1. Effective and Persuasive Communication: enhancing your personal leadership style (Theatre workshop).Guest speaker: actor 2. Creating powerful Leadership stories: business narratives that convince, engage and inspire (applying Storytelling technique) 3. Media Training: enhancing credibility and influence (on camera training). PART 1 Guest speaker: expert in Media Training

2. WEEK TWO 1. Media Training. Exploring confidence and authority under pressure- Crisis Management- (on camera interviews) PART 2 2. Presenting your business projects: groups deliver their final business presentations. Ample feedback given

Methodology
The methodology is highly interactive, using impromptu exercises, role-plays, video illustrations group discussions and recordings on camera. We will also have interesting guest speakers as contributors. Extensive feedback will be given.
Assessment criteria
-Participation 20% ( individual)
-Feedback to other students 10% (individual)
-Journal 35% (individual)
-Final Presentation 35% (group)
