Methodology

This course is fundamentally practical in focus given its instrumental nature. For this reason, students are divided into groups to use the spreadsheet tool. Class attendance and constant practice are decisive to successfully pass this course.

The course also includes learning capsules/pills with theoretical content related to the course's practical components so that students can work on their own, even online.

The course website is also a highly important tool within the course. Consequently, we recommend students visit the website as frequently as possible to stay abreast of the course and deadlines.

ASSESSMENT

ASSESSMENT BREAKDOWN

Description %
Practical case studies 40
Teamwork 60

Assessment criteria

Students' assessment will bear in mind how well they acquire the learning objectives described above. These marks will range for 0 to 10. In addition, faculty may assess the competencies worked on in this course and incorporate those marks into the 0 to 10 mark for the class. They will also assign those competencies an independent mark ranging from A to D. The latter is assigned in the different courses students take and serves to indicate students' progress throughout the entire programme.

Bibliography

Short bibliography:

All the theoretical content presented in class will be complemented by PowerPoint presentations available on the course website. Faculty will post these presentations after the corresponding sessions.

Should students wish to consult additional texts, there are numerous manuals available for Excel 2016. Similarly, there are numerous online resources available such as message boards and websites that offer free tutorials and video-tutorials.
