Previous Knowledge
No specific prior knowledge is required. This course addresses issues related to e-commerce, cyber-crime, compliance and data security. Becoming aware of these technical questions will help students understand how cyber-related attacks function.
COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM
The importance of cybersecurity in the economic, business and public realms, along with the severity of the thousands of cyber-attacks carried out every day and today¿s incipient legal framework require us to have a basic knowledge of the relation between cybersecurity and new business models.
Course Learning Objectives
1) Raise awareness about the need for companies to address cybersecurity-related issues.
2) Understand the current challenges that legal experts in the cybersecurity field face: risk and impact analyses.
3) Be able to describe the national and international legal and normative framework in the cybersecurity area.
4) Be familiar with and understand the impact of cyber-attacks on social media and companies.
5) Be able to prevent and, if applicable, respond to cyber-related risks.

Assessment criteria
Assessment will consist of the following:
- Lecture classes and participatory sessions.
- A group project analysing the risks for a company¿s tangible and intangible assets, the aim being to define a specific action plan.
Students can only be assessed if they attend the established minimun number of classes, including lectures and participatory sessions. As a percentage, the minimum is 80% for students for the first time. If students do not meet this condition, their mark will be recorded as "absent". These percentages, however, do not include justified absences.
Students final marks have to range from 0 to 10, computing the correspondent class participation and the group project.
