COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM

Strategic and Business Consulting is one of the most popular professional opportunities among management students. This elective course aims to complement all the core courses of the Program and provide the students with a better understanding of the consultancy world and opportunities. With a very practical approach, it will provide real experiences of different consulting projects, discuss and consolidate Strategy and Business concepts, and work on some of the skills required in Strategic Consulting to increase the probability to get a job in such a demanded professional opportunity.

Course Learning Objectives

This course aims to:
- Provide the students with an understanding of how consultancies work, how they add value, and what their major processes are
-Provide the student with an overview of the main players and the opportunities
- Identify and demonstrate the key skills that the leading consultancy looks for in candidates
- Show how to face the selection process of the important Consultancy firms
- Present and discuss with students real-life case studies and consulting stories by the hand of professionals working for strategic and business consultancy firms

By the end of the course, students will:
- Have a global picture and a better understanding of the consultancy market and will be able to take an informed decision about the future of their professional career
- Understand how the consultancy firms recruiting process works and be prepare to face it with more probability to success
- Improve their skills of: critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, discussion and public presentation

-Contrasts among the major firms


2. Landing a job at a leading Strategy Consultancy

-How to Network with Consultancies when they visit campus
Writing a CV for a position in consulting
-Strategic Consulting Interviews
-CV-based or personal fit interview
-Case interviews

3. Succeeding at a leading Strategy Consulating Firm

_How to demonstrate "senior presence"
How to Succeed in Your First Year

4. Case Cracking

Methodology

Course methodology includes:
- Lectures
- Discussions around real Consulting Projects
- Interview Training Competition
- Individual presentations
- Group presentations
- Class participation (questions, experience sharing...)

-30% Group Project
-30% Individual Projects
-20% Case study answers (homework)
-20% Active participation in class (Value added participation)
