Workload distribution
Magister classes are focused on introducing subject procedures, key information and the methodology students will apply on their project. Additionally, a set of related topics will be presented. We will start with an intensive week of plenary sessions, followed by weekly meetings with the company and the academic adviser. Some additional plenary sessions will take place in some point of the project development to support you in you learning process. It is expected the student will go deeper through the materials needed based on their investigation.
The project will take approximately 20 hours a week per participant to complete, including the time spent on the project and in writing it up. The length of the project is 16 weeks.
COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM
The degree CEMS MiM programme includes a company consultancy project that is undertaken by those students that opt for this qualification. This project is intended to provide students with a real working and stimulating experience. The learning process is based on joint sessions based on adquiring new theoritical knowledge; developing a working plan;, designing a research plan; using research tools; training ability for internal and external communication and capability for efective presentations.
Course Learning Objectives
The idea behind this course is that these company projects would serve as an academic culmination of what has been learnt, as well as providing an experience about how a real company works.
To achieve these results this course aims:
- Provide real experience of a global company
- Interrelate the different areas of knowledge that students have acquired during their degree and adquiere new knowledge related to each specific project
- Practice aspects of the concepts and tools that they have learnt
- Learn how to disegn and develop a consulting working plan
- Learn how to design and develop a research plan
- Provide a global and integrative vision of a company
- Improve team-work skills
- Work with people with different cultural backgrounds
- Learn to manage a consultancy project
CONTENT
1. Introducing the CEMS Business Project Introduction, methodology and team's assignation. |
2. Planning the project Analysis of the company and its market, the diagnosis of the problem or opportunity and subsequent planning of the project. |
3. Running the project Development of the planned project, capacity to adapt to new inputs and ability to find feasible recommendations. |
4. Improving Soft Skills Teamwork, negotiation, communication and presentation skills. |
5. Presenting the project Project presentation. |

Methodology
The course consists of undertaking a consultancy project that addresses all the functional areas of a company. These areas must be interrelated with one another and should, therefore, be addressed in such a way that any one problem may be analysed from the maximum number of possible perspectives.

Assessment criteria
There are well-defined criteria for each of the items to evaluate. Students will have them from the beginning published on the Moodle page to allow them plan where to put the effort.
They include the academic presentation (about research plan/methodology and the learning journey ), professional presentation (about content - midterm and final presentation to the client), and tutor evaluation (level of quality, difficulty and commitment ). All group activities will be include a peer evaluation system.
