This course lays the foundations of opportunity identification and exploration, as well as the main tools and techniques to exploit them. Being able to quickly identify and leverage opportunities is a key skill for Entrepreneurs and Innovators.

This course provides the backbone of opportunity evaluation and exploitation, through a mix of lectures and hands-on activities. Most of the hands-on learning is based on the "200 euro challenge"; through this challenge, students will have to demonstrate, in teams, their ability to define and execute successfully a project. The project will have to be defended at the end of the term, and students will need to show their ability to define, run and profit from an idea. In parallel, students will be given different perspectives to look at opportunities as well as the key tools to exploit them.

This course is based on a hands-on methodology complemented with a theoretical framework. Students will learn through the project execution, and in class we will provide relevant frameworks and tools to help them to improve their idea definition and execution.


Attendance

A major part of your learning in this course will take place in the classroom. We expect you to attend all sessions (and be on time!). If you have to miss a class, please notify the course's teaching assistant in advance by email. Also, you are expected to submit a 2-page write-up on the class topic (detailed info will be sent by the TA depending on the class missed).
