Assessment criteria

Participants are assessed as follows:
- Individual reflective assignment (midterm, on class concepts & activities): 25 % of final grade. Format instructions on Moodle)
- Team project: 35% of the final grade (individual grade, adjusted according to student's contribution)
- Participation: 15%
- Final exam: 25% Multiple choice conceptual exam.

Criteria and rubrics for assessment will be published on Moodle.

Final grade results of adding these components above described, considering the weight of each component. Students need a 5/10 or higher in that grade to pass the course. However, whatever this grade is, as a requirement to pass the course students must have a pass (5/10 or higher) in final individual grade of the team project and a pass (5/10 or higher) in the final exam. Students that do not fulfil these two requirements do not pass the course and must do a re-sit exam, even those that passed the final exam.

Re-sit exam:
Students that do not pass the course will re-sit an exam. Students whose individual grade in the team project is below 5 (5/10 or lower) will have to do, additionally, a project following the instructions from the professor. Students having failed the team project may be grouped in new teams. Students must pass both the re-sit exam (5/10 minimum) and the project (5/10 minimum) to pass the course.

The final grade after the re-sit exam is obtained from: 25% midterm assignment (individual); 35 % individual grade for team project (done over the course or in the re-sit); 15% participation and 25% final re-sit exam. In case the grade obtained is below 5/10, students do not pass the course in this second call, even if they passed the re-sit exam.

Attendance
Attendance is required. It is necessary to fulfil the attendance requirements stated in the Programme Internal Regulations to pass the course.
