COURSE CONTRIBUTION TO PROGRAM
This course provides the key elements to understand what entrepreneurship is, what are the different forms it can take, what is its impact on society and the career path that it offers.
It provides the basic knowledge and tools for students to understand which aspects of the entrepreneurial process they should further explore as well as in which direction to focus.
Course Learning Objectives
Students will gain a better understanding of the following topics:
- What entrepreneurship means and what is an entrepreneur
- What the key elements of the new venture creation process are: The life-cycle of new venture
creation, from inception to implementation
- How to find entrepreneurial opportunities, with a focus on high-growth venture creation
- How to validate entrepreneurial opportunities
- How to develop entrepreneurial opportunities
- How entrepreneurs "sell? their ideas to external stakeholders
- How entrepreneurs finance their new ventures
- The possibility of entrepreneurship as a potential career path
Methodology
To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, this course relies on a learning methodology that combines a diversified approach, involving class lectures with case discussions, creativity and pitch exercises, guest speakers, group exercises and student presentations.
Assessment criteria
Students will be evaluated on the following elements: Class participation (both individual and in groups), the delivery of an elevator pitch (individual), and a written final test (individual)
